Wow. Wow. WOW.
I am a curry lover. No, that’s probably not accurate. I am a curry FANATIC.
I LOVE Indian food with an absolute passion and I have been searching the streets of London high and low for a curry that satisfies this gals needs. AND I FOUND ONE. Nestled between the ‘Gherkin’ and the Lloyds building, in a back street of London City is Anokha, a beautiful restaurant, with décor just as gorgeous as its food.
On arrival you head downstairs through the traditionally decorated stairwell, complete with incense, bare brick, and atmospheric lighting. On one of the walls boasts pictures of its celebrity visitors. You will be greeted with smile and a handshake by one of the extremely friendly staff, who quite literally would do anything for you.
The menu is something to drool about, it offers so much choice, both traditional dishes and more contemporary, with meats ranging from chicken to monk fish and sea bass. A word of advice. GET THE ONION BAHJIS. They aren’t what you would expect, and are quite literally heavenly.
You can check the menu here: http://www.anokha-indian.com/menus.html
The food is the best I have had by far, it is tantalising and rich and just beautiful. This, mixed with the atmosphere, staff and décor, it’s a 10 on the food-a-meter.
I LOVE THIS PLACE. It’s an experience I want to share with you because it’s so DARN great! If you go, please let me know what you thought :)
