I did a naughty thing guys. Because I was lame and had no Friday night plans, I thought, rather than heading home straight away and drowning my sorrows in carbs and wine, let me head into central FIRST to drain my bank account a little further. Winning all round right? Well, not my waistline or my bank account but yeah.
So I headed to Topshop’s flagship store on Oxford Street, the holy grail of all things cool and hip and fashionable. But the reason I went was not to check out their clothing, but their makeup. I often forget that Topshop does a makeup range, but I wanted to check it out as I had heard good things from fellow bloggers.
This store actually holds a few brands in their makeup collection as well as their own (obviously), including Barry M and NYX, and my beloved Skinny Dip for phone cases and accessories, but that’s a whole different story. Find out a bit more about Skinny Dip in this post.
So first of all I sauntered over to Topshops own collection where I picked up my first little gem, this Glow Stick highlighter in colour Play Up (£10). My big sister had actually recommended this highlighter to me, and as I am running out of my tester tube of Benefit’s Girl Meets Pearl, I decided to give it a bash. I am so glad I did, it’s so easy to apply and blends really well. For the price, this stick will last for ages, so it’s great value for money. I love the colour, I feel it really compliments my skin tone. Overall, a winner.
The second purchase I made was a lip liner in colour Deception. I often wear Rimmels 107 from the Kate Moss collection (*loves*) and haven’t yet found a lip liner shade yet that does it wonders. This lip liner is a great colour to compliment my lipstick of the moment, and would also look great with slightly brighter red shades. For only £5 it is a steal.
I then meandered over to Barry M’s counter. I have always loved Barry M, it’s such great value for money and offers such an array of colours in their collections that you are always spoilt for choice. I purchased an eyeshadow pencil in colour Bronze. I got this from inspiration from Lily Melrose who often wears a Clinique Chubby Stick in Amber (I’m pretty sure) and it always looks lovely, so I thought I’d give it a go with a cheaper alternative. This is £4.59. I also got a pencil sharpener because I’ll need to sharpen the stick in some way, obvs!
The last thing I picked up was the Natural Glow 2 Eyeshadow Palette which has some beautiful warm colours in it. It also has an eyeshadow primer section too, so an additional bonus. This literally costs £6.46, so it’s so cheap for a decent palette with colours that will look lovely all year round. You can create a very understated day time look as well as a smoky eye in one palette. LOVELY JUBLY!
