Well HELLO there!
Welcome to blog post number one! I am hoping this writing thing comes naturally to me, because the academic side of things is not at the top of my skillset. But I am hoping this won’t stop me on this exciting new journey. (Soz for any spelling/grammatical mistakes).
I think I will start off by writing about why I wanted to start a blog. Firstly, I. LOVE. BLOGS. And vlogs. I love reading them and watching them and taking a bit of time-out from my not so fancy life to be a nosey little parker and see what other people have been doing with themselves. I have been thinking about starting one for a while now, but I was struggling to find an original and unique idea.
So yesterday I was chilling with a couple of my girlfriends in Le Pain Quotidien along the Southbank and I decided – why the HECK do I need to make a blog about something niche and specific?! I am a dabbler, I like to dabble in lots of different things rather than put all my energy into just fashion, beauty or food. I think (?) the quote that sums me up is “jack of all trades, master of none”. So that is what this is going to be. A diary if you will, and yeah it is going to be public, but I love it when you find a blogger that is real and that you can relate to them. I would say a lot of my inspiration comes from Hannah Gale (I will leave a link to her blog) without sounding like a massive stalker freak, but she is REAL. A real person with feelings whether it be happy or sad, and I like that, because it makes me feel like it’s okay to feel shit sometimes, and I’m not the only one that sometimes just needs a day to hibernate in my bed, eating Pasta ‘n Sauce with Harry Potter on repeat.
Another of my pals, Lauren runs a blog called Modest London (also see below for link) and that is about living life in London for under £25k, which is super handy because she does reviews of places and restaurants and events she has attended. VERY helpful when deciding on mid-month activities when your bank is looking a little bit dire!
I hope for the future people will read this blog and be able to relate to me in some way. And if not, I guess it’ll be a nifty little documentary of what HV got up to in her twenties. So bear with me please, while I get my arse into gear and take this baby off!
